Connect your first AI provider

Steps

1. 1Go to /connectors/providers in the GreyScape app.
2. 2Pick your provider (OpenAI or Anthropic) and click "Add admin key".
3. 3Open the provider's console in a second tab: platform.openai.com → API keys → 'Create new secret key' with admin scope. (Anthropic: console.anthropic.com → Settings → API Keys.)
4. 4Paste the key back into GreyScape. We encrypt it at rest before it touches the database.
5. 5Click 'Sync now' — the first sync pulls 90 days of historical usage. Subsequent syncs are incremental (every hour).
6. 6Open /finance/dashboard — you should see MTD spend, model breakdown, and top spenders within ten minutes.

Watch-outs

• Make sure the key has admin scope, not just read scope. Read-only keys can see your own usage but not your team's.
• If you use multiple OpenAI organisations or projects, connect each one separately — we treat them as independent providers.
• GitHub Copilot uses a different connector at /connectors/github (it requires a Personal Access Token, not an admin key).
